Enjoy and Achieve

The following steps and questions will help you approach and complete your learner journey positively and successfully.

Talk your ideas through with your Learning Assessor or Tutor or ask for help if you are unsure about the answers to these questions.

Step 1: At the start of your learning and training

How does the training on offer fit in with your job?
For example, how will it ....:

  • Help you to do your job better, safer, easier?
  • Help you to do different tasks?
  • Give you more responsibility?
  • Improve your prospects?

Step 2: During your learning and training

How do you make sure your training is successful?
For example, think about ....

  • What feedback have you had from your Learning Assessor, Tutor, or employer?
  • What is going well?
  • Are there any challenges of difficulties? (If yes, what are these?)
  • What help and support do you need to get over these?

Step 3: At the end of your learning and training

Has your learning been of benefit?
For example, think about the benefits to you and your employer ....

  • What went well?
  • How does it help you do your job better? safer? easier?
  • What different tasks has it helped you do?
  • How has it helped you take on more responsibility?
  • What new skills or knowledge have you learned as part of the training?

Step 4: Looking ahead, aiming higher

What would you like to do next? What opportunities are there for more learning?
For example, think about the possibilities ....

  • What new skills would you like to learn?
  • What qualifications could you do next?
  • How will this help you do your job better?
  • Are there any likely opportunities to progress at work?
