Equality and Diversity

A4e is proud to have a diverse community of people working and learning with us. We value and recognise the benefits of this diversity and believe that all people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

We are committed to making our services accessible to all people and will challenge bullying, harassment and unjustified discrimination on the grounds of race, nationality, religious belief, ethnic origin, disability, age, gender or marital status, civil partnership or sexual orientation. All allegations of discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation are taken seriously and will be dealt with quickly and sensitively.

A4e is also committed to building a diverse and socially inclusive workforce that is responsive and appropriate to all our customers. By embracing difference in terms of people, skills and cultures we can develop our creative thinking and arrive at winning solutions. We believe that ‘talent’ should be positively utilised and that people deliver their best when they feel valued, their opinions are welcomed and acted upon, they are included and when their needs are recognised. This means we can better respond to the diversity of all our customers.

Our aim is that A4e staff and learners will experience a welcoming environment filled with opportunities that not only reflect their culture, diversity and interests but also allows them to fully and equally participate and so achieve their goals. We also want to support our staff and learners’ in understanding the importance of equality and diversity and providing them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to recognise and challenge events and behaviours that infringe on an individual’s human and civil rights.

A4e will accept nothing other than an environment which respects people’s rights and values people’s diversity.
